Position: Software Development Manager(1 Position) As a key leadership role, reporting to the CEO, the Software Development Manager is accountable for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software releases of Interfacing Technologies products, while participating in defining the strategy for the product development team by driving initiatives that deliver on the Interfacing vision. His/her job description will entail the following:
Work together with the Product Owner to plan and execute projects, ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlinesWork closely with the Product Owner, Sales, and Business Analysts, for understanding the system’s Functional and non-functional requirementsCollaborate with the Product Management in defining the Product VisionDemonstrate leadership abilities to our clients with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of our clients and markets, based on the state-of-the-art technologiesEvolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going livePreparation of training manuals for usersMaintaining the systems once they are up and runningCoordinate release and sprint planningConduct daily scrum meetingsHelp developers resolve both technical problemsMonitor individual employees’ performance Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization requiredMust have at least 7 years experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products to marketA record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader and/or development managerStrong understanding of the software development cycleStrong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem solving skillsExperience with managing the development of SaaS and cloud based applicationsExperience in Visual Basic (.Net), Java J2EE/JBoss application server software development (EJB, JMS, JDBC, JTA), XML and C++Java programming Relevant experience with web services and RESTExperience with EJB3 and/or Spring frameworksUnderstanding of relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL)Knowledge of Hibernate frameworkUnderstanding of SwingExperience with ApacheFamiliarity with Adobe Flex/Flash, Adobe AIR, HTML5Willingness to dive into software environments and technical issuesExperience with Scrum methodology and Agile practicesHigh command of verbal and written English.
