A contemporary restaurant specializing in premium authentic, nutritious and hearty Kenyan cuisine is recruiting for a Hostess.

Position Overview: The restaurant hostess is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant.
It is the job of the hostess to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrival.
- When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
- When immediate seating is limited, records guest names and number of people in party.
- Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
- Provide guests with estimated waiting time, always maintaining a professional, courteous attitude when confronted with hostile, impatient or irate guests.
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
- Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
- Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name.
- Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
- Relay messages to servers as needed.
- Clean menus of food and stains.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.
- Thanks guests as they leave and invite them to return. Relay guest comments or suggestions to the manager on duty.
- Explain the restaurant concept to guests.
- Give directions to the restaurant to guest inquiring for it.
- The position requires a friendly outgoing person who is willing to go an extra mile to provide quality customer service to guests at all times.
- He/she should always be perfectly groomed at all times
- He/ she should be time conscious and always execute his duties accurately and on time, with minimal supervision
- He/she should be friendly and always willing to assist his guests with a natural smile.
Qualifications Experiences and Competencies
- Diploma in Food & Beverage/Customer Service/Hostessing from a recognized institution OR Minimum of High School Diploma.
- Minimum of two year work experience
- Basic computer and numerical skills
- High degree of integrity and honesty
- Positive attitude and willing to work as a team
- Able to work under high pressure and minimal supervision
- Good presentation skills.
