Occupational Safety & Health Officer Job At KU In Kenya

Kenyatta University seeks to recruit an Occupational Safety & Health Officer to advice on, maintain and protect health standards that touch on Occupational Safety & Health among the University Community in their work environment.

Qualifications For Occupational Safety & Health Officer Jobs In Kenya

Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Risk Management

Alternative qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Business Management or Law will be an added advantage

At least three (3) years relevant post qualification experience in a busy institution or company
Occupational Safety & Health Officer Job Responsibilities In Kenya

Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health

Undertaking risk assessment and site inspections

Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely

Identifying potential hazards

Determining ways of reducing risks

Writing internal Health and Safety policies/strategies

Compiling statistics

Drawing upon safe operational practices and making necessary changes

Writing reports

Ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation

Conducting training sessions for Supervisors and workers on health safety practice and legislation

Coordinate emergency procedures, rescue and first aid
