Kenya Pipeline Company Specialized Welders Jobs




The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Limited is a State Corporation

established under the Companies Act (CAP 486) of the Laws of Kenya to

provide efficient, reliable, safe and cost effective means of

transporting petroleum products from Mombasa to the hinterland.




In

pursuit of this objective, the Company is looking for qualified, highly

motivated and results oriented candidates to fill the following vacant

positions:
 



Specialized Welders



Job Group 6

Location: Nairobi Terminal
 



Reporting to the Engineer (Mechanical)
 



Overall Job Purpose: Responsible for the attainment of maximum availability of equipment and ensuring uninterrupted operation through continuous maintenance and servicing, also promptly attending to any breakdowns and emergencies in the section for efficient and effective pumping of white petroleum products – whichever is applicable.




Job Profile


  • Implement maintenance programmes.

  • Receive, maintain and keep records of maintenance jobs undertaken.

  • Ensure safe working conditions are appropriately applied.

  • Make regular reports on jobs executed.

  • Inspect new spares and materials before acceptance.

  • Responding to emergency repairs of the pipeline/equipment – whichever is applicable.

  • Participate in preparation of engineering procedures and work instructions, maintain records on key performance indicators.

  • Make regular reports on jobs executed.

  • Raise the necessary purchase requisitions and reservations for the maintenance works.

  • Assist in Carrying out checks on tools and make inventory of required tools for various tasks.

  • Observe the safety regulations.

  • Respond to emergency repairs of mechanical equipment/pipeline – whichever is applicable.


Person Profile


  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience.

  • Final craft certificate from KNEC or recognized equivalent

  • High Pressure Pipeline Welding Certification is mandatory
