The International Rescue Committee has been working in Somalia since 2006, providing essential services to conflict and disaster-affected communities. The IRC has been operational in South Central (Mudug, Galgadud, Banadir and Nugaal) regions of Somalia, implementing interventions in the areas of Livelihood, WASH and Health, GBV, Governance and Rights reaching out to more than 200,000 conflict and drought-affected population in these regions.
Scope of work
Under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer, the Supply Chain Intern is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain team in delivery of all supply chain functions in Somalia program, Nairobi office.
Specific Responsibilities
- Supports the Supply Chain team in the handling of procurement and other logistical works and documentations
- Print PRs, seek approvals and scan back to requester.
- Enter PR data in prolog in timely manner.
- Send out RFQs and update prolog with quotation details.
- Compile Supply chain documents for payment and submit to SCO for review.
- ·Preparation and submission of PRF and checklist for payment, submission of same to SCO before handing over to finance
- Filing of supply chain documents in organized format as agreed with supervisor.
- Receiving items delivered by suppliers and preparation of a delivery report
- Assist in sending/ receiving of shipments to/from the field sites
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:
- Diploma in Business Administration/Financial Accounting or Logistics related field preferred.
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Competent with using Computers, especially Microsoft Office Word and Excel spreadsheets and Outlook
- General knowledge of the logistics procedures and tools
- Good mathematical skills
