Introduction:

 Komaza is looking for a full-time Forestry

Information Manager based out of its Kilifi, Kenya office to lead a field based

team of Forestry Information Associates who measure and evaluate our tree

inventory in the thousands of tree farms located in Kilifi county, Kenya.

Several teams operate day to day in

the field to support Komaza’s operations.

The Forestry Information team is

crucial in collecting the data necessary to guide the senior leadership team in

critical decision making.

The Role:

 Komaza’s Field Information department is a highly

mobile team which specializes in the collection of data from literally

thousands of tree farms. 

The data is collected using different

capturing methods by teams on Motorbikes who live and breathe “Data”.

The Manager of this team has to be an exceptional team-leader who plans and

organizes the work schedules of the various team members and prioritizes

various data needs by other teams. 

This role requires somebody who

always thinks “How can I make the data collection more effective?” “Which other

data do we have to collect?” “How can I support the other teams better?”

This role is partially field based and requires somebody who is confident and

flexible when interacting with local farmers and team members.

As the Forestry Information Manager, a typical day might include:

• Plan and organize the work schedule for the
  
  team


• Upload forestry information into the IMS


• Generate reports and conduct analyses


• Collaborate with case management team


• Visit farms and do fact checking on location

Introduction:

 Komaza is looking for a full-time Information

Technology Director to build and develop the technology vision for a

fast-growing sustainable forestry company. 

This is a senior strategic leadership

position in a fast-paced and culturally diverse organization.

The Role: The Information Technology Director will serve as

the internal consultant to senior management in all things regarding technology

as well as the team leader of the Information Technology team. 

Komaza requires huge IT support to

move its operations and decision making to a data driven approach. Systems

across all departments and groups will have to be built as well as data

collected and analysed.

This requires somebody who is a true tech entrepreneur and has built complex

organization spanning systems at start-ups, tech companies and data driven

organizations and who’s looking for a new challenge.

As the Information Technology Director, a typical day might include:

• Consulting with department and group heads on
  
  their technology needs


• Researching technology trends and conducting
  
  case studies


• Designing systems


• Coaching and training the team


• Develop policies and best practices for the
  
  organizations technology use
