Assistant Lodge Manager – Masaai Mara, Kenya

Our client, a Luxury Boutique Hotel Group, is looking for a positive and creative Assistant Lodge Manager for their new lodge in Masaai Mara. 

The successful candidate will assist the lodge manager with organizing and coordinating all the lodge operations and procedures. 

He/She MUST have at least 2 years managerial experience in a 5-star lodge or tented Camp, be a strong leader and very customer oriented.

Key Responsibilities;

• Determining, managing and implementing all operating procedures.


• Coordinate and manage the team, delegating as appropriate.


• Strive to deliver the best personalized and courteous guest experience every day.


• Month end reporting and regular communication to management and key stakeholders.


• In the absence of lodge manager, meet and host all media, journalists and agents.


• Constantly train and inspire the staff to strive to exceed the guest’s expectations.


• Oversee food service at mealtimes.


• Roster staff and manage leaves.


• Assist with overseeing and management of the lodge’s vehicles servicing.


• In the absence of lodge manager, manage all aspects of accounts, petty cash etc.


• Provide input for social media – Facebook, blogs, videos and photographs.


• Ensure overall property appearance is pristine at all times.


• Resolve and handle guest complaints.

Qualifications;

• Hotel management degree/diploma from a reputable institution.


• Over 3 years of management experience in a 5-Star lodge or tented camp.


• Customer focused with a warm, friendly personality.


• Exceptional food and beverage knowledge.


• Excellent communication and leadership skills.


• Passionate about service.


• Problem solver and “out of the box” thinker.


• Valid Driving license.


• Proactive and eye for detail.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 250,000/= plus other benefits (Approx. 2,500 USD)
