Job Title: Internal Auditor – Steel
 

Reports to: Finance

Director
 

Salary: 90K – 150K

Our client is one of the leading steel manufacturers in East Africa with its

head office in Nairobi. 

They are looking for an Internal

Auditor with experience in the steel industry.

Job Purpose: Responsible for performing, planning and execution

of compliance, financial, and operational audits and special projects. 

This individual regularly interacts

with mid-to-senior level management to discuss issues and recommend improved

business practices.   

Job Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate the adequacy and
  
  effectiveness of information systems and business controls.


• Compare and contrast property controls with
  
  regulatory requirements and generally expected internal controls.


• Identify and document business processes and
  
  controls in order to evaluate risks and compensating controls.


• Create audit programs for new company/property
  
  initiatives.


• Assist in ensuring audit practices conform to
  
  department and professional standards.


• Lead or facilitate meetings to discuss audit
  
  findings and consulting services with top levels of management.



• Identify and document business processes and
  
  controls in order to evaluate risks and compensating controls.


• Provide advisory and consulting services to
  
  improve efficiency, effectiveness, and utilization of company assets.


• Contribute to a strong relationship with
  
  company mid-management and staff.


• Perform a wide variety of adhoc special
  
  projects.

Competencies and Qualifications

Desired

• Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Finance /
  
  Accounting Option)


• CPA / ACCA(K)


• CISA


• Excellent command of the English language(both
  
  spoken and Written)


• Good command of the Swahili Language


• At least 4 years of relevant experience in
  
  internal audit, public accounting or related business experience,


• Experience working in a steel manufacturing
  
  company will be an added advantage


• Knowledge of Oracle is an added
  
  advantage 


• Knowledge of MS Office suite.


• Culturally aware and adept at working across
  
  multiple geographies
