IT Manager Job in Kenya




Vacancy: IT Manager 



User Requirements and Trainings



Service / Performance Standard


  • Liaise with user departments and identify information requirements

  • Regular consultations with user departments should be initiated and user requirements should be established or revised on bi-annual basis

  • Chart a comprehensive ICT strategy 

  • The ICT strategy should be reviewed annually and any revisions should be discussed with the Deputy Managing Director

  • Following from the identification of user needs and reference to the overall ICT strategy identify training needs

  • A training programme should be formulated annually.

  • The extent to which the agreed programme is complied with should be reported to the Deputy Managing Director immediately upon the close of each planning period


Procurement and Installation


  • Identify and specify hardware and software requirements; evaluate quotations from various vendors; inspect distribute and install deliveries  

  • Hardware and software should be purchased in accordance with the programme laid out in the overall ICT strategy


Implementation        


  • Ensure that user requirements are fulfilled – All user requirements identified in the ICT strategy should be fulfilled according to the laid down programme

  • Ensure that controls are in place to safeguard software and database integrity

  • Ensure that all equipment is adequately maintained and is safeguarded against undue power fluctuations etc

  • Liaise with the software supplier (Autoline/Africa online etc) and ensure that dialogue is maintained


Administration


  • Identify the department’s manpower needs and participate in recruitment exercises

  • Allocate duties to the members of staff in the IT department – A work plan that addresses company’s needs should be drawn, observed and modified as necessary

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff in the IT department


Special Duties: Special duties should only be formed on the express request of the Deputy Managing Director and may be wavered or varied from time to time

Scope and Dimension              


Budgetary responsibility:  Purchase and custody of computers and other associated peripherals
