Logistic & Operations Manager – Nakuru, Kenya

Our client, one of the leading Producers of Natural Sweeteners, is looking for a hands on and driven Logistic & Operations Manager for their offices in Nakuru. 

The successful   candidate will provide logistics and operations support within the Kenya team. 

Company logistics with the plant, planting material collection and distribution from farm through to processing in China is a major component of this role, now and specifically for expansion for the future. 

Experience in the Agricuture / Horticulture sector is an added advantage.

 

Key Responsibilities;

• Provide logistics support to all Kenya team functions.


• Structure efficient collection of the plant from all growing areas and farmer groups.


• Link collection with accurate and timely farmer payments through the accounts department.


• Facilitate the central collection, quality control, bailing and warehousing of the plant.


• Quality testing of all plant batching through China and convey results in a timely manner.


• Export and shipment of baled product through to China.


• Shipping of fresh plant material to other countries.


• Facilitate importation of fresh plant material.


• Provide logistics support to the cuttings and propagation of plant material with 3rd party propagators.


• Administrate/coordinate the distribution of cuttings/seedlings to farmer in conjunction with the production team.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in logistics or similar.


• At least 5 years of management experience.


• Experience in the agriculture or horticulture sector.


• Driven and ambitious.


• Excellent leadership skills.


• Practical and hands on.


• High integrity.


• Excellent communication skills.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000/= (Approx. 1,000 USD)
