We are an international NGO with a strong footprint in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania: In these countries our 3,000+ strong staff serves over 200,000 smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way out of hunger and poverty.
 

The One Acre Fund Tech Team develops systems in Microsoft Access, SQL Server and C# and helps manage a wide variety of operations from the enrollment of clients, taking farm supply orders, tracking millions of payment transactions, providing software tools for assisting with the delivery of seed and fertilizer. 

 

To help in testing changes to Tech’s services and features, we are hiring a Software Quality Assurance Officer. 

The QA Officer will help test the Roster and operations website every month to find and report bugs.

Your Role

• Run regular test cases for the operations website and the Roster


• Work with the QA team to update testing procedures according to changing requirements and new features


• Report bug to developers and follow up on bug fixes


• Maintain and configure personal virtual machines to mimic different testing scenarios


• Perform field visits to verify that tools/reports produced by the system are effective in the field

Our Requirements

• A university degree in a computer related field OR previous experience in the use of Roster and/or the operations website


• Attention to detail and a desire to create high quality products


• Strong critical thinking and decision making skills


• Strong problem solving skills


• Ability to work with little direct supervision


• Strong written and oral English communication skills


• A good team player


• Willingness to learn new technical skills

Compensation: Competitive salary with performance based bonuses and incentives, airtime and transport reimbursements, a medical cover and a house allowance.
