Members of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal is established under the Political Parties Act, No.11 of 2011.
Pursuant to Section 39 (2)(b) of the Political Parties Act, 2011 No.11 of 2011, the Judicial Service Commission of Kenya invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Member of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
Requirements
- Be a citizen of the Republic of Kenya;
- Hold a degree in Law, Management, Administration or other Social Sciences, from a University recognized in Kenya;
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experience at Management level; and
- Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
The Member shall not be a Member of the Public Service and not be an active participant in the activities of a Political Party.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal is established under the Political Parties Act, No.11 of 2011 and its jurisdiction is to determine: disputes between members of a political party; disputes between a member of a political party and a political party; disputes between political parties; disputes between an independent candidate and a political party; disputes between coalition partners; and appeals from decisions of the Registrar under the Political Parties Act 2011.
Pursuant to Section 39 (2)(b) of the Political Parties Act, 2011 No.11 of 2011, the Judicial Service Commission of Kenya invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Member of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
- Drive the Tribunal’s vision and mission through the implementation of its Programmes and Plans;
- Mobilize and manage the resources of the Tribunal to achieve its core mandate;
- Provide requisite leadership to ensure the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes.
- Preside over all the proceedings where he / she is present in person with unlimited geographical and pecuniary jurisdiction on matters of disputes;
- Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the full bench;
- Enter judgments in default of appearance;
- Determine and pronounce upon any point of law arising in the course of proceedings before the Tribunal;
- Approve, sign, issue and certify orders, decrees and certificates of costs, copies of proceedings and warrants of attachments for execution of Court decrees and orders; and
- Write and pronounce awards, judgments, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal.

Applicants should upload soft copies of the following documents to the online application:-.
a) A letter of application..
b) Declaration of income and liabilities as at the time of making the application, using the prescribed forms (The Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities Form JSC 2b can be downloaded from the Judiciary website – www.judiciary.go.ke)
c) Detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae with telephone, e-mail and other contacts of three (3) referees who must be familiar with the applicant’s previous work experience
d) Certified copies of certificates, testimonials and professional certificates and academic transcripts.
So as to reach the Commission not later than 26th February, 2016 at 5.00 P.M.
