Senior Accountant Job in Kenya

Summary: Our client is a venture capital fund manager that

develops and grows breakthrough businesses that that can transform markets at

the base of the pyramid (BoP) in East Africa by, for example, offering

low-income households access to affordable goods and services such as

healthcare, agriculture services, energy, housing, education and safe water, or

access to new opportunities as employees or producers.
 

They are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to manage their finances on an ongoing basis and

integrate the financial process into their core business. 

This is a rare opportunity to join a

small, dynamic team making and managing venture capital investments in East

Africa.

• Performing all financial accounting roles for
  
  the company including managing payroll, company expenses and book keeping


• Producing management accounts and annual
  
  financial accounts for the company


• Managing the audit process for the company


• Filing tax returns for the company


• Liaising with the accountants of the Fund



• Working with portfolio company finance teams
  
  to improve practices in the portfolio

Qualifications and Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Business related field.


• A minimum of three years post-qualification
  
  experience in finance and accounting


• A good understanding of the tax environment of
  
  Kenya


• Experienced with Microsoft Dynamics / Navision


• Experienced in working with a variety of IT
  
  packages (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, CRM tools)


• A strong communicator, both in writing and
  
  orally

• Self starters who will take the initiative,
  
  anticipate needs and issues, and drive the implementation of our financial
  
  processes


• A quick learner who can pick up the details
  
  associated with venture capital finances rapidly


• Hard working, willing to commit extra hours
  
  when necessary to support a company that could transform the lives of
  
  thousands


• Diligent and has very good attention to detail


• Committed to the highest standards of honesty
  
  and integrity
