Job Vacancy: Factory Manager

About SOKO: SOKO is based in Rukinga Wildlife Sanctuary, Maungu, near Voi. SOKO EPZ employs 50 people and manufactures clothing for brands internationally.

The role:

• Manage and schedule all incoming factory jobs. Determine factory capacity and manage client deadlines


• Plan, oversee and assist in all areas of the production line including target setting in order to meet deadlines


• Ensure production flow efficiency to include optimum cell formation, lean manufacturing principles


• Work with each department (cutting, quality control, machinist, packing) to ensure each supervisor is on schedule and fulfilling their job requirements


• Ensure clear and constant communication with clients and build positive working relationships


• Oversee the import of raw materials, ordering of labels and trims and export of completed goods


• Communication between suppliers, clients and director


• Fulfill a general troubleshooting role in an autonomous nature with a positive attitude


• Work with the Human Resources team on appraisals, employee contracts, all employee committees, contracts, disciplinary and staff training


• Employee motivation and empowerment


• Strategic thinking and implementation in order to improve efficiency of working and bring about growth

Skills and Experience:

• Three or more years of production related work experience


• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment


• Detailed knowledge of garment construction


• Strong leadership and management skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Written and spoken fluency in English


• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, analysis and resolve problems and work autonomously


• Attention to detail with the ability to generate and execute ideas for improvements
