The Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa is an
institution of Aga Khan Health Services, Kenya which is an Agency of Aga Khan
Development Network.
The hospital is part of an integrated
health system that includes Hospitals and outreach health centres across East
Africa. AKHS is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health
care systems in the developing world.
The Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa has attained acknowledgement of its quality
service by achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification, ISO 15189:2012 accreditation
for Medical Laboratory Services and is moving towards Joint Commission
International Accreditation.
The Hospital has also expanded its
services to include Oncology Services complete with a Daycare Chemotherapy
Centre, Midwifery Antenatal Care and Delivery, One Stop Breast Clinic,
Lymphedema Therapy services in our Rehabilitation department and Pediatric
Surgical Services.

Resident Consultant – Radiologist
Job Summary: The position reports directly to the head of
department, Diagnostic Radiology department.
It provides radiological services to
both inpatient and outpatient; acts as an active member of the
multidisciplinary healthcare team and contributes to continuous professional
development program.
- Supervise and report all examinations in
general radiology, mammography, ultrasound and C.T. - Participate in institutional
multi-disciplinary continuous medical education activities and
professional development programs - Supervise radiographers and radiographer
students with the objective of achieving high standards of quality in
imaging practice - Adherence to radiation protection board
guidelines concerning radiation safety
- M.Med in Radiology or equivalent post graduate
qualification from a reputable institution - Special recognition in Diagnostic Radiology
- Must be registered and licensed with the
Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board - At least two years’ experience in General
Radiology, Ultrasound and CT - Experience in performing imaging guided
procedures (biopsies and drainages) would be an added advantage
Resident Consultant – Clinical
Pathologist
Job Summary: The position reports directly to the head of
department, Pathology / Laboratory medicine department.
It provides clinical pathology
services to both inpatient and outpatient; acts as an active member of the
multidisciplinary healthcare team and contributes to continuous professional
development program.
- Provide, as necessary, clinical
interpretations of tests done with the hospital’s laboratories - Provide supervision of the day to day testing
activities conducted at the hospital’s laboratories including its outreach
centers. - Coordinate with the Head of Department to
select, establish, and quality control all testing procedures within the
hospital’s laboratories - Coordinate with the Laboratory Manager to
assure adequate levels of technical staffing and professional competence
of laboratory personnel. - Establish adequate technical back up for
laboratory personnel - Contribute to and facilitate educational
programs for other professionals, and allied health personnel and students
as required - Participate in strategic planning, medical
operational review, and budget planning as required - Adhere to and ensure compliance with current
applicable local, state laws and regulations and the accrediting standards
of any certification or accrediting body that accredits or certifies any
facility at which THE HOSPITAL provides services.
- Applicants should have a Bachelor of Medicine
and Bachelor of Surgery (MB.ChB) or equivalent degree from a recognized
University with a Postgraduate qualification (Master of Medicine) in
Clinical Pathology. - Applicants must be registered with the Kenya
Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board as a Pathology Specialist. - Should have a minimum of two years post
qualification experience in the specialty in a reputable institution. - Good working experience with ISO 15189 quality
standard. - • ideal candidate should have effective

and inpatient setting of the Aga-Khan hospital; main hospital and outreach
centres - The successful candidates will be responsible
for the effective management and care of patients with the aim of ensuring

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
(MBChB or MBBS) - Registered and licensed with the Medical
Practitioners and Dentists Board - Minimum of one year working experience post
internship - Certification in ACLS and ATLS will be an
added advantage
Head of Facilities and Support Services
Job Summary: The Head of Facilities and Support Services will be
responsible for overseeing and ensuring the provision of best practices in the
hospitality departments of housekeeping, catering, maintenance, security,
communication and transport.
- Develop and implement the operational and
budgeting plans for the hospitality services - Responsible for the maintenance department,
ensuring the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and
supervision of external contracts - Ensure high standards of cleanliness for the
facility and utilities in compliance with infection control policies of
the hospital - Ensure provision of high quality standard and
cost effective food and beverage production and services - Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
of the facilities, services, and environment including NEMA - Secretary to the Occupational Health and
Safety Committee - Co-ordinate and manage the transport and
communication needs of various departments in the hospital. - Establish and implement policies and
procedures for the safety and security services including management of
outsourced services.
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality management
from a recognized university - Minimum of 8 years working experience in
hospitality management, of which at least 4 years should be in a senior
leadership role - Working experience with applicable codes, laws
and regulations e.g. NEMA, OSHA etc. - Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team
