Passionate about developing and
implementing solutions for hidden hunger, the Micronutrient Initiative (MI)
works in partnership with governments, the private sector and civil society
organizations to address micronutrient deficiency and related health and
nutrition problems in underserved populations.
Governed by an international Board of
Directors, MI works in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and the
Middle East and reaches people in more than 75 countries.
Currently the MI is seeking applications for the following positions for the
new Technical Assistance to Nutrition Project (TAN).
The purpose of the TAN project
supported by the British Government (DFID) is to increase and enhance the
technical assistance available to SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition movement) countries
to help them accelerate the scaling up of nutrition.
MI’s work on TAN will contribute also
to building MI’s N-TEAM (Nutrition-Technical Assistance Mechanism) business
model, and will complement other work by MI in the region and countries.
Priority ‘client’ SUN countries in
the region may vary over the life of the TAN project but currently include:
Ethiopia; Kenya; Tanzania; Nigeria; Senegal; Burkina Faso; Uganda and Zambia.

The purpose of this position is to
work closely with
(b) SUN focal points, networks and
key stakeholders
(c) DFID and others donor
representatives in the Region and in prioritized countries to
(1) identify, diagnose and specify
needs for Technical Assistance (TA),
(2) source and select appropriate
national and/or international TA resources, and
(c) to negotiate contracts with,
manage and monitor the performance of, TA providers;
(d) capture and help disseminate lessons
learned from TA assignments via the SUN movement.

provide programmatic and financial administrative support to MI’s Project Manager
Africa in the implementation and coordination of the DFID-funded TAN project to
support selected SUN countries to accelerate the scale up of nutrition.
