Our company is a Fresh Produce Company based in Thika is looking for self-driven & result oriented person to fill in the above position:

Job Description
 

Planning

• Prepare a 52 weeks Production Budget of the respective cluster per area per product.


• Prepare an annual expenses budget in the respective cluster of operations.


• Prepare quarterly policy meetings programmes in the respective clusters.


• Plan annual leave programme of the Agronomists and submit by 2nd week of January every year.

 

Organize & Implement

• Conduct Farmers commercial meetings / policy meetings at cluster level.


• Ensure policy meetings letters of announcement are sent to respective groups within minimum 3 weeks prior to the meeting date.


• Coordinate his/her team of agronomist to ensure consistent and reliable weekly production.


• Coordinate recruitments of Wilmar ideal growers in consultation with the production management.


• Ensure all farmers’ producer groups are registered and functioning very well with all elements in place i.e.

1. Working constitution,


2. Group meetings,


3. Record keeping,


4. Active/ operational office.

• Ensure all cluster team members go on their annual leaves timely in accordance to the leave policy.


• Identify Demonstrations farms and coordinate all activities pertaining to the demonstrations. E.g. Documentation, Growing activities monitoring etc.


• Coordinating company projects in the respective clusters e.g. field days, constructions and Bulb/seeds multiplication projects.


• Ensuring conformance to the certifications standards in respective clusters and ensuring internal audits are done timely.


• Ensuring good production quality consistently and reliably by;

1. Ensuring working with Wilmar ideal growers,


2. Ensuring soil sampling for all the growers,


3. Ensure the agreed feeding programme is followed,


4. Ensuring agreed recruitments are done as per Wilmar Ideal grower’s criteria.

Direct

• Approval of field expenses from his/her team and submission to the production manager.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Confirmation of actual plantings in the farms submitted by the agronomist in the respective cluster.


• Set production targets for all agronomists in the respective clusters and ensure weekly agronomist evaluations as per agreed production targets.


• Write and present a fortnight production report during production management meetings.

Requirements:

• University Degree (Bsc in Horticulture, Agronomy or Farm management) or Higher Diploma in Farm management with additional qualification in management,


• 3-/years’ experience in farm management responsibilities or similar position will be added advantage


• Experience in agrochemicals sales


• Must be willing to be HANDS ON and fully be engaged in the field


• Strong analytical, problem solving, communication & interpersonal skills


• Person should be able to work for long hours.


• Have the drive end aspiration for results


• Good computer knowledge: Excel and Word


• Good command in both spoken and written English, Kiswahili


• Must have a clean driving license class BCEFG
