Women Christian Association (YWCA) is a National Organization founded in 1912

whose purpose is to develop the leadership and collective power of women and

girls to achieve social and economic empowerment, human rights, health,

security, dignity, freedom, justice and peace for all humanity.
 

The

Association invites TWO applications for the position of Laboratory

Technologists for its Branch in Kisii. 

The

successful candidate will be based in Kisii – Keumbo and Gucha South

sub-counties and will report to the Branch Manager

 Duties

and Responsibilities

• Implementation
  
  of the Investing for Impact Against Tuberculosis Project


• Manage
  
  day to day data management functions of the TB/HIV program by ensuring
  
  that



• All
  
  Registers are correctly completed with all data elements


• Proper
  
  and timely documentation of data in registers and summary tools as well as
  
  generation of reports


• Quality
  
  in all activities conducted as well as participate in quality assessment
  
  and strategies for quality improvements


• Working
  
  with the team to prepare and submit a summary report to the Program
  
  Officer at the end of every month for documentation and for facilitation
  
  of payments


• Prepare
  
  and submit progress reports at required intervals


• Represent
  
  YWCA at meetings and conferences


• Carry
  
  out any other responsibilities assigned by the Ministry of Health/AMREF
  
  Kenya in line with project scope of work

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma
  
  in Laboratory Medicine


• 5
  
  Years practical experience in implementing TB/HIV programs in a Laboratory
  
  setting


• Computer
  
  Literate- experience in using data analysis software packages such as
  
  SPSS, Epi Info will be an added advantage


• MUST
  
  be registered with Laboratory regulatory Body-KMLTTB


• Excellent
  
  interpersonal, people management and team building skills


• Good
  
  oral, written and presentation skills


• Ability
  
  to multi-task


• Ability
  
  to work in a team


• Self
  
  Motivated/Honest/Reliable


• Must
  
  be a Christian


• Able
  
  to travel long distances and can work long hours including holidays and
  
  weekends when necessary.
