Impact Research and Development Organization Jobs in Kisumu, Kenya




Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a registered Kenyan Non-Governmental Organization with with the head office in Kisumu and regional offices in 10 counties and 42 sub-counties.



We are looking for qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions, based in Kisumu.
 



1) Finance Manager
 



Reporting to: The Director
 



Key Responsibilities


  • Act as the lead person for all financial matters under IRDO.

  • Oversee staff in the finance department and provide regular capacity building to all existing and newly recruited staff to enable them perform efficiently.

  • Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.

  • Ensure internal and external audits are performed in a timely manner and corrective action plans are implemented thereafter.

  • Ensure compliance with IRDO, donors, and the government financial policies and procedures.

  • Formulate, plan and prepare financial, statutory and management accounts, budgets and forecasts and ensure compliance by use of appropriate accounting systems, standards and procedures.

  • Participate in the preparation of annual organization budgets and budgets for individual projects.

  • Monitor budget performance of all funding sources and projects, and provide regular briefing to IRDO Management, Board of Governance and other entities as required.

  • Oversee the management of the sub granteeson financial matters.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Masters Degree in Finance/Accounts or its equivalent; must be a CPA or ACCA finalist; must be registered with ICPAK.

  • Over ten years of proven work experience in a high-level leadership position, with at least 5 preferrably in USG-funded projects.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a busy organization with multiple concurrent projects; proven teamwork and flexibility in demanding situations.

  • Good negotiation, diplomacy, communication, planning and coaching skills.

  • Demonstrated competency in computer applications; proficiency in relevant computerized accounting system mandatory.

  • Highest level of professional integrity, responsibility and accountability.


2) Internal Research Monitor
 



Reporting to: The Research Manager
 



Key Responsibilities


  • Monitor ongoing studies to ensure compliance with GCP

  • Keep and manage regulatory binders and other essential documents

  • Track submissions to IRBs and other regulatory bodies

  • Conduct routine internal site monitoring for the studies and follow up on action plans

  • Work with external monitors during monitoring visits

  • Participate in staff training and preparation of study SOPs, job aids, etc.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Diploma in Nursing (KRN) a must; Bachelor of Science in Nursing highly recommended.

  • Must have at least three year’s experience in a busy health facility.

  • Must have at least 3 years additional experience in a research setting, preferably a clinical trial.

  • Must have excellent documentation skills and willing to work under pressure.

  • Attention to detail paramount.

  • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya, and have a valid practicing licence
