Overall purpose of the job


  • The adjunct lecturer will provide training services in the Advocates Training Programme. The School is seeking to enhance the data base of adjunct lecturers and those recruited will be allocated classes on a need basis.

Person Specification

The successful candidates should: –


  • Possess an LLB or equivalent and an LLM or equivalent from a recognized university.

  • Possess B.COM or equivalent with Accounting Major and Masters in Science/Business Administration (Accounting or finance full Professional qualifications in Accounting CPA or Equivalent 6 years and above teaching experience. (Accounting lecturers need not necessarily be lawyers or advocates of the High Court)

  • Trial Advocacy lecturers should be trained and examined by The National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA).

  • Be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with at least five years post admission experience.

  •  A member of the relevant professional body and in good standing. 

  • Holds a current Practicing Certificate.

  • Have the ability to conduct legal training at a practical level.  

  • Have been trained in Andragogy skills. 

  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and present concise oral and  written reports. 

  • Have excellent planning and organizational skills.  

  • Have good Information Communication Technology skills.  

  • Have good customer care and public relations skills.  

  • Possess good interpersonal relations skills and be a team player.  

  • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
