Cooperative Auditor

Requirements for appointment

•  Be a Kenyan citizen;


•  Bachelor’s Degree in any of
  the following disciplines: Commerce, Business Management or Business
  Administration with a bias in Accounting/Finance from recognized
  institutions;


•  Certified Public
  Accountants (CPA) Kenya Part II or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA)Part
  II from recognized institution;

OR

•  Certified Public
  Accountants (CPA K) Kenya Part III or Certified Internal Auditors
  (CIA)Part III from recognized institution;


•  Must be a member of ICPAK;


•  Certificate in computer
  applications from a recognized institution

Duties and responsibilities

The Cooperative Auditor shall be
responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

•  Examining Vouchers and
  cashbooks, Ledgers confirming the propriety and accuracy of the
  transactions;


•  Carrying out Audit
  Inspections of societies records;


•  Collecting data on
  periodical financial returns, estimates of income and expenditure;


•  Computation of financial
  and statistical records based on routine or special sources of information;


•  Auditing Annual accounts
  and undertaking audit Inspection of co- operative societies; and


•  Any other duty that may be
  assigned by the supervisor.

following bodies.

• Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA)


• Credit Reference Bureau(CRB)


• Higher Education Loans Board(HELB)


• Ethics and Anti-Corruption
  Commission(EACC)


• Directorate of Criminal
  Investigation (DCI)


• For those with higher education
  certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of
  qualifications from the Commission of University Education.

Each application should be accompanied by some detailed curriculum
vitae, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and
transcripts, National Identity Card or Passport, testimonials and other
relevant supporting documents.
