We are seeking to fill the following positions:

AIDS RELIEF Pediatric HIV Clinical Officer Specialist (REF AR-COS 01)
• Objective: The Pediatric HIV Clinical Officer Specialist will work closely with the Medical Technical Advisor in Kenya. The incumbent will provide on-site clinical mentoring in pediatric HIV care to Local Partner Treatment Facilities (LPTF) staff.

Reports to: Aidsrelief Program Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
His/Her main responsibilities will be but not limited to:

• Provide on-site clinical mentoring in pediatric HIV care to Local Partner Treatment Facilities (LPTF) staff
• Work closely with staff at each LPTF to improve the management of HIV-infected children and their integration into the CCC
• Assist the consortium in developing evidence-based protocols and clinical tools for management of infants exposed or infected with HIV, pediatric ART, and clinical management of HIV-infected children and adolescents
• Facilitate proper implementation of written protocols relating to pediatric HIV care at LPTF’s.
• Assist the consortium in preparing teaching materials for pediatric HIV care
• Assist Aidsrelief Training Center staff in developing and implementing a Pediatric HIV Training Program, including curriculum development, presenting lectures and mentoring trainees
• Organize and conduct regular training for health care workers on pediatric HIV care and counseling
• Support implementation of Kenya National Guidelines and other relevant guidelines relating to PMTCT and Pediatric HIV care
Reporting/Communication
Regular communication to the CMMB Management and to relevant program staff is essential to ensure that program issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner for the successful implementation of the programs.
The Senior Medical Technical Advisor, AR program Manager and the Team lead for the Kisumu based TA team are the primary conduits for program communication. Each shall be included in relevant communications.

Qualification and experience:
• Registered Clinical Officer with Higher Diploma in Pediatrics.
• NASCOP training in Adult and Pediatric ART.
• 3 years hands-on experience in pediatric ART.
• Experience working with faith-based institutions is an added advantage.

Additional Tasks:
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time and work under difficult conditions with minimum supervision.
