FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry), a Christian Relief and Development NGO seeks to recruit a driver as follows:
Functional Title: Driver
Duty Station: Nairobi –1 position with occasional travel to the field areas
Date of Issue: 31st January, 2011
Closing Date: 15th February, 2011
Job Summary:
Provide efficient transport services to the organization and ensure vehicles are well maintained at all times.
Major Responsibilities:
* Driving assigned vehicles
* Inspecting vehicles to know their condition and reporting any defects to supervisor
* Sensing conditions of the car by smell and feels while driving
* To take an inventory of the car items daily
* Ensuring insurance covers for road licenses and inspection certificates are up-to- date
* Updating and submitting log-sheets to accounts
* Maintaining the vehicles in a clean condition at all times
* Delivery of parcels/mail whenever necessary
* Handling driving duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies include:
* O level with a minimum C- pass
* Not less than 5 years experience on safe and accident free driving
* Must be a trained mechanic
* Ability to work for long hours
* A valid driver’s license classes BCE
* Able to communicate adequately in either English or Kiswahili
* Must possess a valid copy of certificate of good conduct
* Must be 30 years or more.
* Must be committed and willing to serve the poor in relation to FH’s Chrsitian foundation believes.
