Danya International Information Communications Technology Manager Job in Kenya

Summary Scope of Work:

The Information Communications Technology Advisor will provide technical leadership and implementation oversight for Danya’s evidenced-based information communications technology (ICT) social development initiatives in the country.

The position will be responsible for providing technical assistance to USG agencies, USG partners, and GoK, designing and leading high impact ICT strategies and implementations.

Report To: Regional Director

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Responsibilities:

Leadership

Provide strategic leadership and vision for ICT programsAbility to lead the ICT technical approach across multiple projectsRepresent Danya before stakeholders and oversee implementation of activities throughout KenyaContribute to annual work planningEstablish and maintain a productive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs and community groups for smooth implementationWork collaboratively with other project team members to ensure necessary program planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficientlyWork collaboratively with project and headquarters staff to assure proper financial projections, reporting, spending and compliance with project terms and conditions.Contribute to ensure projects meets set targetsPromote and support the dissemination of best practices among the project teamsContribute to timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities and results to the donor, including progress reports, and annual reportsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer science degree with post-graduate level training preferredA minimum of 6+ years of senior level experience in designing and implementing ICT programs for social development programsSignificant experience in design and development of technology solutions to increase international development project impactProject work experience with open source technologyFamiliarity with the design of e-learning applicationsFamiliarity with the design of mobile phone applicationsDemonstrated experience leading large ICT initiatives funded by international donor organizationsExcellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skillsStrong change management, results oriented and decision making skillsAbility to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to performFluency in EnglishAbility to travel nationally and internationallyExperience developing successful, replicable and sustainable projectsExpertise in research to practice – identifying best practices and adapting them to program realitiesA team player accustomed to building team capacity, delegating working teams, and developing communities of learning among host country partners and counterpartsDanya is an equal opportunity employer!
