Manager and a Head Cook at Government Guest House, Garissa Norh Easter Province

Applicants are invited for the post of Manager and head cook at government guest house, Garissa.

Applicants must be Kenyan aged between 25-35 years and have the following qualifications

Manager

KCSE C+ with C plain in English language and C plain in Mathematics.Diploma in Hotel and catering Management from a recognized institution.Proficient in computer knowledge and its applications.Previous experience of four (4) years and above in tourist or middle class hotels is mandatory.Accounting knowledge would be an added advantage;The salary scale and benefits attached to post are:
Basic salary of ksh 30,000 per month, with yearly increment of ksh 1000 per monthFree housing within the facility compound.Annual leave 30 working daysThe contract may be terminated by not less than one month ‘s notice to be given by either party in writing or otherwise by the payment of either party in lieu of the notice of not less than one month’s salary/wages.

Head Cook

KCSE D+ (plus) with C- in mathematics and C- in English languageDiploma in food and production from a recognized institution or a certificate with work experience of 5-10 years.Knowledge of costing and control, communications skills are mandatoryPrevious experience of five (5) years and above in the tourist and middle class hotels are necessaryMust have good management skillsSalary scale attached to the post and benefits will be;
Basic salary of ksh 15,000 per month, with yearly increment of kshs 500 per monthFree housing at the guest house compoundAnnual leave of 30 working daysThese posts are challenging positions which call for total commitment to work. The appointments will be on one (1) year contract basis renewable depending on performance.
