Our client a leading European contractor requires a Safety Manager to work on a large construction of a dam project in Ethiopia.
Project:
A large HEPP project in Ethiopia. At over 145m tall and 1800m wide the project has a construction value of around $4.8 billion and is expected to take nearly 4 years to build. When completed the dam will be largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa and the reservoir will be one the continents largest.
Job Role:
The position is expected to reside permanently in the job site and refers to the Project Management. The Safety Manager is responsible for setting up the safety plan of the project in accordance with the requirements established in the general Safety System of the Company and with applicable laws and regulations. The QC Manager is responsible to organize safety training and induction courses for all personnel involved in safety sensitive site working activities. The Safety Manager is responsible for monitoring the proper implementation of the project Safety Plan and keep constantly updated the Project Management of its status. He is also responsible to interact with the Employer and/or Employer's Representative staff and/or local authorities for all matters related to safety implementation. The candidate shall have a minimum 20 years overall work experience of which at least 10 in similar role and possess at least one previous experience in a large civil infrastructure project.
Requirements:
Must speak, read and write Fluent English
20 years experience.
BSc in Civil Engineering or Material Engineering or Geology Science
