Gedo Regional Manager
The position:
The Gedo Regional Manager is responsible for ensuring a sound management of the Mandera team, through leading the team to effectively manage the health & nutrition and the education programmes in Gedo region (Somalia), as well as delivering on the accountability and compliance requirements.
Specifically, the position holder will coordinate Programme implementation and development, Administrative, Finance and Logistics functions at the Mandera/Gedo level, overall team management, security, communication and public relations, as well as represent the organization at the Mandera/Gedo level.
This position will be based in Mandera, with regular visits to Nairobi office and to Somalia when security allows.
Competencies:
The candidate must have a Masters degree or equivalent in Public Health or community development, with at least 5 years of experience in programme management, working with local authorities and communities, particularly in supporting local capacity building.
Should also demonstrate a sound experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and grant management, proven track record in key senior management roles (programme, financial, HR, logistics), and in high quality reporting and proposal preparation
for donors.
Other desirable skills include; strong leadership and good interpersonal skills including the ability to listen; negotiation skills at different levels; be flexible and adaptable to work in an unstable environment and have the ability to work under pressure with limited support.
The candidate should also be computer literate, comfortably handling the Microsoft Office products.
