Oxfam Regional Market Analyst & Support Programming Advisor and Regional Protection Advisor Jobs in Nairobi Kenya

Regional Market Analyst and Support Programming Advisor

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Salary & Benefits: GBP. 24,245 - 30,853 net per annum plus attractive benefits

Level: C1 Global

Contract type: Fixed term – 1 year

The role

You will lead in regular monitoring of markets in the region as well as in Oxfam project areas in countries to capture trends and inform programme designs and regional/country strategies.

Provide an integrated national, regional and global market analysis, to regional programme staff, SRMT & country management.

Provide regional advisors & country programme teams with support in market analysis and identification of market support programming opportunities. Provide a link between OGBs Private Sector work and its wider Livelihoods & Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods (EFSL) Programmes.

What we’re looking for

A minimum of 5 years involvement in development & humanitarian response work of which at least 2 years must be spent on working on markets based programming,Strong conceptual and practical understanding of socio-economic development & the role of markets in poverty reduction and conflict mitigationKnowledge and understanding of the relevance of market analysis and support programming in the field, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such workRegional Protection Advisor

The role

You will provide specialist protection advice and support and be the main point of reference within HECA region on Oxfam’s approach to and work on protection.

Carry out protection analysis of specific crises, including conflict analysis, and make recommendations for actions to be taken by Oxfam to ensure safe programming and options for the mainstreaming/integration of protection activities into the response including risk management

Advise on the inclusion of protection (in line with organisational policy and guidance, based on priorities, skills and capacity) in the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation phases of all Oxfam GB’s humanitarian and conflict-affected programmes in HECA.

What we’re looking for

A minimum of 3 years involvement in humanitarian response work, preferably in field-based protection work in conflict or insecure environments.Strong conceptual and practical understanding of protection issues and specifically Oxfam GB’s approach to and role in protection work.Knowledge and understanding of protection at the field level, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such workDemonstrable experience of linking protection concerns to various levels of advocacy & development of evidence-based advocacy on protection concerns.These are opportunities for dedicated and highly motivated professionals, with a strong commitment to Oxfam’s values and beliefs.
