REGIONAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Our client is a recognized leader in the East African market with operations spanning 5 countries. Today, the Group seeks its Regional CEO who will continue to push innovation in this highly competitive and dynamic environment and expand throughout the continent.

The Regional CEO will have the desire to grow and develop the company into a dominant insurance group on the African continent. Working closely with the Chairman and the Board to define and implement the company's strategy and tactical planning, you will provide input on the re-engineering of the organization where necessary.

Leading a team of talented professionals, you will be responsible for managing all business lines, ensuring their growth, financial strength, operational efficiency and have full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability.

Further specific responsibilities will include:

Developing, proposing and implementing annual budget plans, monitoring projects and investments and manage all aspects of the company with the senior management teamProviding leadership and direction for regional business operationsCreating and maintaining cross functional lines of reporting into corporate headquarters and the facilitation of communication and understanding amongst shareholdersLeading the development of new markets and countriesEstablishing performance/productivity goals which are aggressive, real and tied to overall company strategy and goalsEnsure that the processes and procedures are in line with international best practices

Who we are looking for:

Our ideal candidate will have an MBA or relevant Masters degree. You will demonstrate significant senior management P&L experience with proven capabilities in driving growth and achieving business excellence. You must also have the capacity to build legitimacy and leadership by the commercial development and be able to deliver results in a complex environment. Insurance background is not an absolute must have but would be an asset. A strong understanding of financial management is a must as is the ability to clearly communicate complex financial issues. Determined with a hands-on approach you possess excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in emerging markets is a distinct advantage.
