Role Overview:
Our organization has an ambitious strategy to double income from statutory donors over the next five years.The International Partnership Development team within the organization’s International will play a key role in supporting organization’s members/country programmes to plan for and fundraise from statutory donors and to manage contracts when won. The Regional Coordinator posts will work with members to enhance their knowledge and capacity around statutory income and ensure that member need in this respect is communicated as appropriate throughout the organization’s federation.Each Regional Coordinator will work with a selected number of members to enable in depth understanding and relationship building.
Each regional coordinator will also specialize in procedures, rules and regulations around one major donor and will provide support throughout the organization on issues around this donor.Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities and Key Activities
To provide technical advice and support around statutory fundraising
On donor scoping and funding opportunitiesOn funding planning and programme resourcingOn concept note and proposal developmentOn managing statutory donor contractsTo provide training and other capacity building support to members As part of the IPD team, develop relevant training materials around all aspects of institutional fundingDeliver training workshops around all aspects of institutional fundingTo provide donor specific advice to the organization around one multilateral donor Support to members developing concept notes and proposalsSupport to IPD in developing and delivering donor specific training and other materials As part of the IPD team, work towards delivering IPD’s strategy and annual plans Participate in team planning other processes and meetingsRepresent IPD internally and externally at meetings and events as directedProvide reports and intelligence to the head, IPD and the team Typical People Management Responsibility Team Leader: Head of IPDGrandfather - Manager of Team Leaders/Managers: ID Fundraising and CommunicationsWhat is the global remit? Education & Certifications
To degree level or above in an appropriate subjectEssential Knowledge and Experience Of INGOs and fundraising from institutional donorsOf development work in Africa or AsiaOf training and capacity developmentProven track record in developing proposals for institutional donorsExcellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment, often at a distanceFluent English essential including ability to write technical proposalsDesirable Knowledge and Experience Trained as a trainerExperience in distance team working, including providing support from a distanceKnowledge of French, Spanish, Portuguese The post is a direct line report to Head of IPD within the Interntional Fundraising and Communications DirectorateCompetency Profile

IPD has to constantly adapt to both imposed donor requirements and to changing constraints and needs within the organization. Thus the post will have to innovate and develop new responses (in the region and as part of the IPD team) to meet a constantly changing environment

Excellent communication skills are essential both with all stakeholders (customers) as an integral part of the role, and to the IPD team, which is scattered across the organization (The ability to work co-operatively and flexibly with others, both within and outside the organisation, demonstrating an understanding of effective team working and partnerships)
The Regional Coordinator must work flexibly and as part of numerous short term teams developed to address specific issues. The relationship between the Regional Coordinator and IPD’s Donor Coordinators is essential to the meeting of IPD’s goals. Effective relationships across the organization are essential. Fundraising from official donors has to include all parts of the organization.
