Kimetrica was founded in 2006 and is a consortium of companies based in the Kenya and the US (see www.kimetrica.com). The primary clients are the US Government and World Bank. We provide
software, research, advisory and training services. As the company grows, there is a need to upgrade financial systems in order to handle more and larger projects. The company needs to be fully compliant with both US and Kenya tax and accounting laws.
Kimetrica is seeking a CPA or equivalent with a strong understanding of US Government procurement and accounting rules, and strong analytical skills, to review Kimetrica’s financial systems and suggest immediate and long-term improvements. The assignment is for 2-3 months, starting immediately
1. Develop a rollout plan for PROCAS1 adoption:Assess PROCAS adoptionIdentify key training and other requirements for PROCAS adoptionRecommend how PROCAS that could be better used to strengthen Kimetrica’s financial management2. Develop financial reporting tools and capabilities particularly for cash flow projection and core reporting on financial indicatorsReview existing financial reporting to managementSuggest report structures and methodsAssist the finance team in implementing better reporting3. Assess Kimetrica’s DCAA compliance and implementation of project-based accounting:Review USAID audit recommendations and Kimetrica procedures and guidelinesAssess compliance levels with DCAA regulations and best practice in project-based financial managementRecommend short-term improvements for immediate actionDesign a strategy for long-term strengthening of project-based financial management4. Assess structures and staff for financial management:Identify gaps in staffing if appropriateIdentify any training and capacity development needsPropose revised staff structure and arrangements if necessaryPA or equivalent accounting qualificationroven experience working with USAID or DoD contractors and understanding of USG financial management requirementsGood understanding of MIS capabilities and corporate financial reportingStrong familiarity with revenue and cost forecasting methodsTrack record of similar analysisExcellent English language communications skillsKenya based and familiar with Kenyan accounting and tax laws and regulationsExperience with PROCAS and QuickBooksConsultancy contract of 2 months with possible extension to 3Travel to Nairobi required (at least 2 weeks)Competitive fees based on recent ratesFull reimbursement of travel and other expensesConsultants are expected to fill hourly timesheets and sign non-disclosure agreementsAn email covering letter including:
