Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations in support of ICL and its partner CSOs in achieving rigorous financial and grants reporting and management systems. The Grants Officer will also work closely relationship with Heads of Departments, and project Managers on budgetary and donor compliance requirements with regards to financial and grants related activities.
Key Responsibilities shall include;
Provide oversight and coordination of ICL’s grant portfolioFacilitate development and review of Grant Strategies-in line with ICL’s Strategic planSupport to management in strategic analysis for funding opportunitiesOrganize and facilitate periodical grants review meetings i.e. Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annually etcMonitor ICL’s commitments and facilitate compliance of programs with donors requirements Lead on Quality Grants proposal development coordinationManage, provide support to and build capacity of the grants unit staff and/or programme TeamBuild grant management capacity of field staff with training in compliance, report writing, proposal development and other topics relevant to donor complianceReview Grant agreements and provide recommendations and concerns to the Senior Management TeamMaintain Master files on Grant and Monitor paperwork connected with grant-funded programs/projectsBe involved in budget forecasting, preparation, and tracking to ensure that budgets are adhered toCarry out grant closures in accordance with laid down procedures and regulationsBachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or other business related degree with over 3 years’ experienceBe a qualified Accountant with CPA (K) or ACCA Professional qualificationKnowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes Knowledge of major donor regulations, procedures and requirements with demonstrated ability to exercise basic financial oversight of grantProven ability to facilitate the development of winning proposals to public and private sector donors;Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and budgetingExcellent computer skills and competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet competing deadlines;Detail-oriented with good multi-tasking abilities and communication skills, both oral and written;Proficiency in written and spoken English skills with proven ability in report writing and presentationAble to work well both within a team and independently, in a challenging and fast-moving multicultural environmentApplication and contact details:If you meet the requirements for this position, please send your CV and cover letter quoting your current and expected salary to hr@ichooselife.or.ke to reach us on or before 14th December, 2012 .The subject line of your application should be ‘Grants Officer’ only.
