Job Description: Account Manager – Kenya

About the Business: Our client offers technology solutions that address data management, client engagement and decision support in healthcare and other sectors by taking advantage of expanding mobile and wireless infrastructure in African countries.  




It has an existing product called ClinicCommunicatorTM that is a web-based practice management application that facilitates basic electronic patient data management and a way for hospitals and clinics to easily communicate to their patients through mobile channels (SMS, email, mobile applications, etc.).  


 


It continues to enhance ClinicCommunicatorTM and develop an ecosystem of other solutions that facilitate patient-provider interaction and improve health outcomes.  



The expertise of access.mobile includes developing context appropriate, usable and value-creating solutions for African healthcare providers and health consumers, and access.mobile has successfully implemented national-scale health initiatives in East Africa (and in other sectors outside of the health sector). 



The company was one of five companies to win a Pan-African innovation award from Microsoft 4Afrika in 2014.

We are looking for a candidate to fulfill the role described below.  Both female and male applicants are encouraged to apply.


Job Title: Account Manager, Kenya


General Summary: Manages the operations and sales of the company’s products and services in Kenya. Ensures consistent, profitable growth in revenues through positive planning and execution. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.


Core Function



  • Collaborates with the Regional Director in establishing and recommending the most realistic goals for the company.

  • Manages an assigned geographic sales area or product line to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives


Details of Function


  • Overall management of access.mobile Kenya office and personnel.

  • Financial reporting and budgeting, including monthly and quarterly financial reports

  • Collaborates with the Regional Director to develop sales strategies to improve market share in priority product lines.

  • Performs sales activities and negotiates sales price and discounts in consultation with the Regional Director and in alignment with an agreed upon sales strategy

  • Develops and manages his/her team as per approval of the Regional Director.

  • Provide monthly sales reports against agreed upon  targets to the Regional Director

  • Collaborate with the Regional Director on quarterly sales strategy review

  • Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable results.

  • Establish personal contact and rapport with top echelon decision-makers.

  • Collaborates with the Regional Director to establish and control budgets for sales promotion and trade show expenses.

  • Holds regular meetings with staff.


Reporting: Reports directly to the Regional Director

Relevant Qualifications and Skills



  • A university degree in marketing or business studies is preferred; or a minimum of seven years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information.

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead a team.

  • Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

  • A valid driver’s license.
