Our client is a leading animal feed manufacturing company in Kenya. 

They seek to hire an efficient Human Resource Manager to provide the company with structure and the ability to meet business needs through managing its most valuable resources — Employees.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the day to day running of the Human Resources department


• Develop a HR Strategy that is in line with the overall company strategy


• Ensure compliance of the Company with the existing labor market legislations (Employment Act, WIBA and OSHA).


• Design policies on placement, promotions and termination of employees services


• Handle disciplinary, demotion and inter-department transfer issues.


• Conduct training needs assessment and develop a training policy


• Develop and implement a performance management system


• Maintain a conducive work environment (both physical conditions as well as employees relations)


• Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys as well as scheduling and conducting job evaluations


• Forecast Future manpower requirements and advice top management on the same


• Develop the HR work plan and budget and ensure adherence to set targets.


• To Oversee and coordinate the documentation of personnel records and both in soft and hard copies


• Develop the HR work plan and budget and ensure adherence to set targets.


• Develop, implement and regularly update the HR Policies


• Advice top management on prevailing labor market legislations.


• Overall manpower planning, sourcing and recruitment of staff.


• Develop the talent management strategy and implement it.


• Implement and periodically review compensation, reward and benefits policies and implement.


• Develop the HR work plan and budget and ensure adherence to set targets.


• Oversee the implementation and management of change processes within the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

• Be a holder of a Degree or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management


• At least 30 years of age


• 3 – 5 years experience preferably in a busy manufacturing set up )


• Should have Basic IT skills (experience in using HRIS is an added advantage)


• Must demonstrate a deep understanding of the laws and legislations governing the Kenya labor market


• Must have excellent written/ oral communication skills


• Strong interpersonal skills


• Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality


• Well organized with strong time management skills
