Kenya Literature Bureau Managing Director Job Vacancy



Our Client, Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) is established under Kenya Literature Bureau Act, Cap 209 of 1980 with the mandate to publish, print, and disseminate literary, educational, cultural, and scientific literature and materials. 



KLB is the leading publisher in East Africa and is home to some of the world’s top authors, researchers and experts in book publishing and printing, supporting programmes and a nurturing environment to work, learn and grow.

To drive the focus on strategic growth and development, KLB is seeking to engage a dynamic, highly driven and result oriented individual for the position of Managing Director.
 



Reporting to the Board of Management, the Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing all the strategic, operational and financial performance of the Bureau, through the effective management of executive leadership team.
 



Qualifications and Experience Required


  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;

  • Holder of at least Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution of higher learning;

  • Professional Membership in a relevant field of specialization;

  • At least 10 years’ experience with five (5) years’ experience in senior management preferably in a commercial environment;

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills;

  • Must be computer literate; and

  • Performance and results driven individual, highly innovative, coupled with good business acumen.


Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 including; Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations; Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board; Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority; Clearance from the Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission; and Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
