Qualifications


For appointment to this grade, an officer must:



  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;

  • Diploma in medical engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;

  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognised institution;

  • Be a Member of Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK);

  • Demonstrated considerable technical competences and administrative skills;


Responsibilities


Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:



  • Undertaking preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, instruments and furniture’s;

  • Requisitioning for spare parts and consumables;

  • Taking inventory of medical /hospital equipment’s and furniture;

  • Collecting information for research;

  • Collecting information on medical engineering services for input into the integrated health     information management system;

  • Carrying out minor repairs of health facilities and utilities;

  • Implementing medical engineering programmes and projects;

  • Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • Conducting home visits, following up discharged patients/clients and providing continuity of care;

  • Treating minor ailments;
