Job Description
Duties and responsibilities
- Carrying out routine security inspections at airports,
airlines, regulated agents, catering operators, aviation training
organizations, air navigation service providers, ground handlers and
aviation security service providers. - Conducting Ad-hoc (surveillance) inspections and reporting on
non-compliance for necessary action. - Undertaking periodic (intermittent) security inspections,
- Conducting follow-up inspections to ensure rectification of
identified non[1]compliance;
and - Collecting information on operator compliance levels and
other security matters that could adversely affect civil aviation
operations.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this
grade an officer must have at least:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
Aviation Management, Law, Criminology, Economics, Public/Business
Administration, Structural Engineering, Security Studies or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution. - Certificate in Aviation Security Basic (123) Course from an
institution recognized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). - Certificate in Cargo and Mail Security Course from an
institution recognized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO. - Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirement of chapter six (6) of the
Constitution
