Irrigation Engineer

Duties and
Responsibilities
- Updating the irrigation water users’ associations inventory;
- Collecting and compiling data for irrigation planning;
- Identifying and compiling inventory on relevant stakeholders
in irrigation water management; - Promoting appropriate irrigation water management
technologies; and - Preparing training materials and disseminating information on
irrigation water management. - Organizing farmers meetings for irrigation participatory
development - Implementing irrigation action plans
- Undertaking feasibility studies and preliminary
investigations - Training farmers on irrigation development technologies and
environmental management - Designing and supervising construction of irrigation
infrastructure - Preparing irrigation schemes operation and maintenance
schedules - Preparation of work plans and budgets
- Compilation of periodic reports
Requirements for
appointment
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Agricultural
Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a
recognized institution. - Must be registered as a graduate Engineer with Engineers
Board of Kenya (EBK) - At least two (2) years of relevant work experience
- Certificate in computer applications.
