Solar Engineer Job, Current Engineering Jobs In Kenya,

Our client is in the Solar Industry based in Mogadishu Somalia. They seek to hire a Solar Engineer responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of solar power systems.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare comprehensive commercial and technical proposals to respond to any client Request for Proposals on a timely manner.

  • Manage the sales request process for all project types and work within guidelines and set triggers to efficiently manage priorities.

  • Support projects estimating and scheduling tasks as required.

  • Identify, pre-qualify, and acquire prospects for the sales of large commercial Solar PV Grid -Tie projects and perform technical due diligence

  • Create plans for solar energy system development, monitoring, and evaluation activities.

  • Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of residential or commercial solar power systems.

  • Design or coordinate design of photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems, including system components, for residential and commercial buildings.

  • Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

  • Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design objectives.

  • Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar energy systems or components.

  • Provide technical direction or support to installation teams during installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, or performance monitoring.

  • Perform computer simulation of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation system performance or energy production to optimize efficiency.

  • Develop standard operation procedures and quality or safety standards for solar installation work.

  • Create checklists for review or inspection of completed solar installation projects.

  • Test or evaluate photovoltaic (PV) cells or modules.

  • Perform thermal, stress, or cost reduction analyses for solar systems.

  • Performs site diligence, provides site-specific or customer-specific design, and validates design requirements to suit the client.

  • Designing and installing solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, solar thermal systems, and solar water heating systems

  • Performing site surveys to assess available sunlight and proximity to transmission lines or major roads.

  • Act as a key point of contact between the client and the company in project technical implementation.

Key Qualifications


  • BSC. Electrical Engineering / Energy Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Solar Industry.

  • Strong skills in Commercial and Technical large projects proposal writing skills.

  • T3 Licensed.

  • Technical PV solutions support experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent client-facing skills.
