Supply Chain Officer Jobs Kenya.

Our client is the leading manufacturer of electrical distribution transformers and switchgears in East and Central Africa. Located in Arusha, Tanzania, the company has experienced high level of growth in production capacity, including an increase in regional market share.Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Officer will be responsible for managing the Procurement department in the absence of the Manager.

Responsibilities
•Prioritize tasks and establish schedules to maintain balanced workload among Procurement
department employees.
•Supervise and evaluate performance of subordinates in the department.
•Develop a supplier base for various raw materials and effective performance management of
key suppliers
•Select vendors, local and international, in line with Organization procedures to achieve value
for money
•Ensures inventory accuracy through improved stock management systems to avoid stock outs.
•Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory
management purposes.
•Attend internal material planning meetings with production and sales teams involved in
material supply & logistics.
•Ensuring shipments, imports and exports, comply with Tiscan and Customs regulation in
Tanzania to avoid storage and demurrage charges.
•Work closely with Shipping /Freight Forwarding agents ensuring efficiency of operations in
Logistics function.

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
•Professional qualification in Procurement (CIPS)
•Three years procurement experience at Supervisory level; experience in a manufacturing
environment is preferred.
•Excellent leadership and supervisory skill
