Our Client, Africa's leading independent oil and gas exploration and Development Company with, assets in Europe, South Asia and South America are actively seeking a Well Cost Accountant to work from their offices in Kenya on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities include;
* To maintain accurate well cost accounting records relating to the company's operations in Kenya.
* Implement and maintain a complete Well Cost accounting procedure for the company's well engineering operations in Kenya.
* Prepare daily and cumulative Well Cost estimates for the well Eng group. Ensure estimates are updated for actuals.
* Prepare AFE versus Actual comparisons with variance reporting.
* Provide VOWD accruals for the Finance group at month end.
* Prepare Final cost estimates for completed wells and ensure timely close-out of AFEs.
* Reconcile final costs estimates with General Ledger actuals.
* Accurate coding of all invoices in accordance with Kenya coding definitions. Provide additional coding support and explanations if appropriate.
*Contract compliance of all invoices.
* Ensure that the company's record keeping complies with the clients policy and that well cost files are of a sufficient standard to pass a cost recovery audit.
* Final well reconciliations with EOWRs
* Train and mentor local staff.
The ideal candidate will have;
* A qualified accountancy degree CIMA, ACCA, CA.
* Detailed understanding of Inventory & Materials accounting.
* Familiarity with management reporting requirements.
* An understanding of accounting for well engineering operations.
* Knowledge of Sun & Cendec an advantage.
