 The Catholic Diocese of Isiolo (Caritas Isiolo) received a grant from the EU through CAFOD to implement Community Based Green Energy Project in Isiolo Diocese.
The overall objective of the project is to increase access to modern, affordable and sustainable energy services for community institutions in rural and peri-urban areas in the Diocese.The Diocese is seeking to recruit qualified experienced persons to fill the above position.
 To provide lead in CB-GEP activity implementationTo prepare and review project activity and budget plans and ensure efficient budget monitoringTo prepare project progress and financial reports in consultation with the Accountant and Development CoordinatorTo visit and monitor project activities, facilitate information sharing with target communities and provide technical support to staff local communitiesTo facilitate the recruitment of ICT volunteers in liaison with Diocesan management and partnersTo work with the community Mobilizer in mobilizing and sensitizing target communities to effectively participate in project activities through sharing project goals, objectives and activitiesTo facilitate easy access of Solar Works technical staff to communities for efficient and successful installation of the solar systems and the training of local artisans and techniciansEnsure visibility of project activities is undertakenQualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes requiredMust have at least a Degree Science in an Energy related field with a bias to project planning and management or in any other related discipline. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering will also be consideredMust have strong Project Cycle Management skillsShould have skills in renewable energyExperience in working with pastoralist communitiesOther related short courses such as community development be an added advantageMust have experience of at least 2 years in project planning and implementationAbility to make sound and timely judgmentsStrong intellectual, analytical and decision making abilityMust be computer literate, conversant with operations softwareShould have good writing and communication skillsMust be articulate in the understanding of the Social Teachings of the Catholic ChurchOrganized, motivated and work well alone as well as with a teamThe project Officer will be reporting to the Development Coordinator
