Job Group ‘R’The officer will be responsible to the Chief Officer Education, Science and ICT
Provide leadership, vision and management of Education and Science departmentAssess and respond to Education and Science needs of the countyManage and advice the county on Education and Science mattersImplement operational policies and guidelines on the utilization of Education and Science resourcesCoordination, development, review and the implementation of ECDE policiesCoordination of ECDE training and assessment in conjunction with KICD and KNECInitiating and supervising the design, development and preparation of ECDE play/learning materials for both normal and special needs childrenPreparing of ECDE strategies, giving technical advice and guidance to personnel in lower cadreCreating and promoting awareness on early childhood needs and demands to local communities and parentsFacilitating and strengthening the development of e-learning strategies in youth polytechnicsFacilitating the promotion of innovative initiativesInitiating and coordinating strategic partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders on Youth Polytechnic Training and ECDEOverseeing the development and management of Youth Polytechnics information systemFacilitating preparation and implementation of the department’s annual work plan and budgetary requirementsMonitoring and Evaluating various departmental programmes and projectsEnsuring implementation of a result-based managementDeveloping Resource CentersBachelor’s degree in Education or a Post Graduate diploma in Education from a recognized universityMaster’s degree in Education related fields from a recognized UniversityMust have served on Job Group Q or its equivalent for at least 3 yearsHave exemplary leadership and management skillsClear understanding of Youth Polytechnics, Home craft centers and ECDE national framework, policies, goals and objectivesSatisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of KenyaAll applicants should submit their applications together with copies of their detailed Curriculum Vitae (C.V), Academic and Professional Certificates ,Testimonials, National Identification Card (ID) or Passport and any other supporting documents in a sealed envelope clearly indicating the position applied for on top left side, on or before 20th June, 2014 at 5 p.m. to:
