The Commercial Vehicle Driver & Mobile Shop Assistant will be one of the founding members of our company’s new team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial driving experience who is looking to expand their skills and take on new challenges by running Nairobi’s first mobile furniture supply shop.
The person in this role will be responsible for operating a small lorry, collecting orders from Watervale’s warehouse and delivering them to our clients courteously and on time. In addition to this, you will pilot a unique mobile shop concept. For 1-3 days each week, you will retail supplies by parking Watervale’s lorry in an area near small furniture workshops. Our goal is to make quality supplies available to these small businesses at affordable prices.
Goals and Responsibilities
Deliver Orders to Clients On-Time and With CourtesyOperate a 3-5 ton lorryCollect goods from Watervale’s warehouse and deliver to client workshopsManage order documentation, such as delivery notesMaintain positive customer relationships when making deliveriesUnload goods from the lorryManage Mobile Furniture Supply ShopOperate a “portable shop” out of the lorry in different locations for 1-3 days per weekSell goods to customers from small workshops based in the area of the portable shopAnswer customer’s questions about different productsTrack sales documentation, such as receipts, and reconcile inventory with sales each dayQualifications, Experience and SkillsValid Class BCE Kenya driver’s licenseA minimum of 3 years lorry driving experienceStrong professional references availableStrong customer relations skillsStrong organizational skills – able to track orders, documents, basic finances, etc.Eager to join a young, quickly-growing organization and teamTo Apply
