Job Purpose: STANLIB FAHARI INCOME REIT will list on the Nairobi Securities Exchange as an Income Real Estate Investment Trust.
The purpose of the REIT is to invest in income producing real estate assets and provide yearly stable income distributions to the investors through dividends, with capital value being attained in the underlying assets. The role is responsible for formulating, revising and implementing investments for the STANLIB FAHARI INCOME REIT and ensuring that the REIT is managed in accordance with NSE rules and regulations. This role will report to the MD of the REIT Manager, STANLIB Kenya Limited.Job Objectives: The CEO will be responsible for establishing the strategic and operational direction of the Trust including the general management of the business.The CEO’s role will, among other things, include:
Managing the day to day activities of the REIT including operational and capital management, acquisitions and dispositions.Developing and monitoring the REIT’s strategic directionStrive to achieve the REIT’s short and long-term financial and operating goals and objectivesEnsure compliance of the REIT with all applicable laws, rules and regulationsAct as the spokesperson for the REIT including representing the Trust to the Unitholders and other stakeholders.Develop budgets and business plans that support the REIT’s objectives;Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the REIT’s financial reporting and public disclosures• Formulate long term policies and strategies that create value for Unitholders of the REIT10 years’ experience as an Investment professional in a Real Estate related industryAn undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Building Economics, Land Economics, Architecture, Property Management, Valuation or any other property related discipline from a recognized university.A master’s degree with an emphasis on finance, economics, and real estate or CFA/CPA/ACCA will be an added advantage.Strong analytical skillsGood presentation skillsGood communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsPassion for propertiesHands on approachInterested candidates who meet the above qualifications and experience should submit their applications to sinvestments@stanbic.com by 23rd January 2015.
