Web Developer Job Key Qualities and Responsibilities
The ideal Web Developer must have a keen interest in new technologies and methodologies, while being able to adapt to the clients demands and specifications.
The Web Developer will immediately be taking on responsibility for various aspects of the product development / support from prototyping new features and evangelizing ideas, through to bug fixing, deployment and maintenance.
The Web Developer should be able to work under minimum supervision, keep tight deadlines, and be flexible in terms of working hours.
Joining team discussions to develop ideas and suggest implementations, creative thinking and prototyping.
Development of new web applications, improvement and reviewing of existing code.
Interacting and working with end users to design and build features.
Key Skills for Web Developer Jobs in Kenya
Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills.BSc – degree in computer science or equivalent qualifications or experience required.
Good understanding of Object-oriented programming is essential.
Knowledge and proven demonstration of working with the LAMP stack bundle and the related technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, PHP, ASP.NET, MySQL, JQUERY, BOOTSTRAP CSS FRAMEWORK and MsSQL).
Knowledge and proven demonstration of mobile programming (mainly Android and Windows) will be a huge plus.
Knowledge and demonstration of APIs development is a huge plus.
Knowledge and demonstration of USSD based applications is a huge plus.
Basic understanding of UNIX / Linux OS.
Understanding of Database set up and management.
Produce clean quality code.
Have the desire to progress your career further and learn new technologies and practices
