They are currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following position:
Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Training and monitoring competent staff to handle Quality Assurance.
- Implementing quality systems and ensuring the quality of raw material, packaging and finished products is meeting the set international standards.
- Set up and maintenance of the staff company training matrix.
- Provide leadership for the quality function including supervising personnel and processes.
- Closely work with the other departmental heads to identify training needs for both departmental Quality Improvement staff and the section staff and provide direction and support in order to achieve high standards and excellence in all areas.
- Provide quality advisory services to the top management and all staff on the management of quality across the supply chain from the fields to the end use of products.
- Regular internal audits of hygiene of the pack house to ensure customer and internal requirements are met daily for compliance. Ensuring that any corrective action raised is actioned and closed in a timely fashion.
- Communication of information relating to quality and technical matters within the company and flagging any non-conformance regarding quality, safety or legality of the products.
- Communication of responses to customer complaints and rejections on quality related issues and ensuring that they are properly investigated, addressed through detailed corrective action plans and resolved in reasonable time and validate effectiveness of each corrective action plan.
- Monitoring and trending of customer complaints.
- In charge of all audits and customer visits preparations.
- Updating/Reviewing the Quality Assurance manual, development of standard operation procedures (sops’), sanitation operation procedures (SSOPs’), work instructions to ensure quality and safety of the raw materials and final products is achieved.
- Preparation of quality assurance reports.
- Maintaining the facility hygiene to the highest standard and ensuring cleaning regimes are adhered to.
- Ensure that all relevant equipment and Staff PPE are in good working condition and well maintained
- Ensuring that the site is operated and managed in compliance with required legal and customer quality, hygiene and Ethical standards.
- Head of HACCP team on site.
- Hygiene surveillance and all micro testing and follow up on all corrective actions.
- Drawing and submitting samples for MRL laboratory analysis and micro analysis.
- Ensuring that all documents/records in use are current/the correct version, filled, approved and filed in a timely fashion.
- Prioritize the development areas based on the business need e.g. Quality improvement tools, GMPs, Consumer complaints, etc.
- Co-ordination of all New Product Development on site, follow up of results and product launches.
- Implementation of the quality policies and standards in the company and distribution points and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and adjusting it as needed.
- Managing compliance of the products with customer’s specifications and international set standards.
- Evaluating business technical risks across the value chain processes including suppliers, contractors and distribution channels and developing and implementing required action plans to ensure full compliance to Company Policies and requirements to manage potential risks.
- Development of product specifications.
- Contribute to a continuous and effective coordination process with all departments so that the efforts from different players converge to the ultimate quality objectives and plan as set out.
- Management of the pest control contracted firm in ensuring that service delivery is timely, satisfactorily and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science technology/Horticulture.
- 3 years technical experience in a vegetable packing/processing facility.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Result oriented, self-motivated and energetic
- Problem solving & Decision making skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Team player
- Quick accurate judgment when faced with multiple solution seeking challenges
