Position: Academic Writing Consultant

Job Description: Our client, a Consultancy firm in Nairobi, seeks to hire a thorough, organized, highly creative and competent academic writer who is able to brainstorm, create and transform ideas into words.
He / she shall be required to design proposals, draft concept notes and write reports for different projects.
Duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); attending strategy meetings.
- Meet proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.
- Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
- Develop proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
- Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience in writing proposals, concept notes and reports for various projects.
- At least Diploma or Degree in Communication, Advertising or any other relevant field.
- Candidate should be below 35 years of age.
- Must demonstrate good research skills.
- Must have exceptional command of the English language.
- Must be able to express themselves fluently in English both orally and in writing.
- Must be thorough in grammatical punctuations.
- Should demonstrate excellent presentation and editing skills.
- Should be able to work with tight deadlines.
- Must be result oriented and a good time manager.
- Should demonstrate good communication skills.
