The holder of this position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including collection and disbursements through consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of Funds loan portfolio and bad debt losses.
Credit Manager Job Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing sound credit administration policies, procedures and guidelines to facilitate lending of Funds.
- Driving performance and providing leadership in credit management, control and reporting across the group.
- Developing products from concept to commercialisation.
- Review and update the Fund’s credit policy.
- Managing customer credit files to ensure all the relevant documentation are in place.
- Monitor the credit granting and updating process.
- Appraise & review credit applications.
- Monitor customers repayment rates in line with respective repayment schedules.
- Providing leadership in strategic planning, implementation and credit department performance contracting process.
- Maximising staff performance through objective setting , appraisal review and feedback
Qualifications for the credit Manager Job
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or finance related field from a recognised university.
- Relevant Master’s degree.
- Membership of good standing in a relevant professional body such as Risk management, credit management, Accounting or equivalent
- At least Six (6) years’ credit experience, two (2) years of which should have been in a management position preferably in the financial sector.
- Knowledge of money laundering prevention policy and procedures.
- Experience in working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System.
- Results-orientated, adheres to turn around times/deadlines.
- Team player, approachable, self-motivated.
- High level of integrity and honesty.
- Proven leadership and good negotiation skills
- Must satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution
Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and should submit among other documents;
Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations,
Clearance Certificate from the HELB;
Tax Compliance Certificate from the KRA;
Clearance from the EACC
Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
