Medical Officer
Job Purpose
The main role of the Medical Officer is to play a critical part in providing quality and efficient medical services at the branch.
The Medical Officer supervises All Branch Staff (Customer Care Officer, Laboratory Technologist, Pharmaceutical Technologist, Nurse & Office Assistant).
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Operational Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient care at the clinic Centre.
- Ensuring proper prescription of drugs based on agreed Meridian Health Group formulary while following proper utilization of the pharmacy and laboratory.
- Ensuring general maintenance of clinical equipment and inventory procedures are followed.
- Ensuring good procurement and supply chain management and maintaining a low stock-out tolerance.
- Overseeing the general maintenance of the clinic
- Overseeing and participating in the routine branch meetings and managing the laboratory/pharmacy/Radiography weekly reports.
- Ensure proper claim forms management
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills)
Professional Qualifications
· A first degree in Medicine (MBChB, MD) from a recognized institution of higher learning
· A valid license and certification from the Kenya Medical, Pharmacy & Dentists Practitioners Board
Other know-how required apart from academic and professional qualifications
Functional Skills:
· Good communication skills
· Patient management skills.
· Ability to handle medical records discreetly
· Strong leadership skills
Personal Attributes:
· Positive working attitude and ability to give and take instructions
· Ability to work as an effective team member.
· Ability to work with minimum supervision
Previous relevant work experience required
· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position

· Nyeri
